Sesame Seed
Sesame (Sesamum indicum), also known as benne, is an upright annual plant belonging to the Pedaliaceae family. It thrives in tropical, subtropical, and southern temperate regions worldwide. Sesame holds the distinction of being the oldest cultivated crop, and its resilience allows it to thrive even in challenging conditions.
Sesame seeds are nutritionally dense, rich in essential minerals. They serve as an excellent source of copper and a good source of calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, and phosphorus.
As an ancient oil crop, sesame provides seeds for various purposes, including confectionery, edible oil, Tahini paste, Halva, and the bakery industry. Remarkably, sesame seeds contain the highest oil content among all seeds. Sesame seed oil finds applications as both a salad oil and a cooking oil, and it is also used in the production of soaps, pharmaceuticals, and lubricants. Additionally, the nutrient-rich press cake remaining after oil extraction is highly valuable.
Sesame is packed in 25/50 KG PP bags, 19 metric tons. Loaded in 20 feet containers.
